Introduction
Please tell me I’m not the only one…
You sit at your computer or on your phone or tablet, ready to conquer the world (or that huge list that’s been forming for the last day or 2).
Something on your to-do list requires you to get on Facebook. You need to respond to a client, check your ad analytics, get a playdate worked out, plan with a coworker.
And then it happens…you get sucked into the abyss we like to call Facebook (or Instagram, Pinterest, etc.).
Several hours go by and you realize you no longer have time to tackle your list.
My Why…
Technology can be a useful tool until it’s not!
That’s why I’m moving my accountability groups away from Facebook. I may get grief for this. I may even lose some members, but those who choose to stay will gain so much more!
They will gain the freedom to visit, chat with others, plan, celebrate, commiserate, and get work done. THAT is the purpose of my groups like The Dragonfly Lounge. I am not doing my job of helping hold people accountable if I’m part of the problem.
Please don’t get me wrong. I love Facebook. Maybe a little too much. But it’s how I talk to so many people and keep up with the latest and greatest going on in my friends’ and followers’ lives. It’s just not a good place to meet for those looking for accountability.
So, while I’ll use Facebook for many business needs, I will not be using it much longer for my accountability groups.
