Have you ever just looked out at the world and realized how much you wish you could go back to being a kid and the biggest problem was a scraped knee or a broken toy?
Lately, it seems the world is more crazy than ever. I live in the path of Hurricane Beryl. The eye went right over us. We are thankful there was no damage like so many others had. And we were only without power for 50+ hours. Others have been out for 6 days! When people are tired, hot, and cranky they get mean. Does taking frustrations out on someone else really solve the problem?
Today, a guy kind of stopped at the red light on a busy road and then decided to go after he saw me turn in front of him. I mean, at least he waited until I got through the light to go. But what makes him so special that laws don’t apply to him?
Shootings, death, illness, etc.
All of this (and more) is so negative and can really affect us.
When things start to be too much, turn off the news, watch funny cat videos, or do something else that makes you happy. And don’t forget to think about the things you CAN be thankful for.
With the hurricane, we had no damage, my daughter was away at camp and wasn’t bored, we had a generator that powered a fan and our fridge, my husband and I had time for nice conversations, and I started a good book.
I have been slowly getting caught up after losing a lot of days due to electricity and dropping off and picking up my daughter from camp 6 hours away.
I’m getting ready for the Dare to Dream workshop in a week.
I’m making progress on a few other tasks around the house.
Life is what I make it. I try my hardest to choose joy.
When the going gets tough, fight back and show the world you have more positivity in you than all the negativity it can throw at you!
